FAQ
Does the calculator account for leap years?Yes — JavaScript Date handles leap years automatically, so totals reflect actual calendar days.
What if I enter the dates in the wrong order? The calculator works out the absolute difference, so order doesn't matter for the day count.
How is 'total days' different from years/months/days?Total days is the exact number of 24-hour periods between the two dates; years/months/days is the calendar breakdown.
Can I use this for dates in different centuries?Yes — any valid JavaScript date can be entered, from year 1 to 9999.
Why do hours sometimes look odd?The hour count is exact (total milliseconds ÷ 3,600,000), so it may differ slightly from day × 24 if daylight saving shifts are involved.
