FAQ
Q: How is the letter grade determined?
A: A = 90% and above, B = 80–89%, C = 70–79%, D = 60–69%, F = below 60%. This follows the standard U.S. grading scale.
Q: What GPA value does each letter correspond to?
A: A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, F = 0.0 on the standard 4.0 scale. Honors or weighted GPAs may differ.
Q: Can I use this for a course with weighted assignments?
A: This calculator works on a single score. For weighted courses, combine each component's percentage first, then use the final percentage here.
Q: What if I earn more points than the total?
A: Enter the values as given. If extra credit pushes you above the total, the percentage will be above 100% — which some instructors cap at 100%.
Q: Is the GPA here the same as my official GPA?
A: No — this gives the GPA equivalent of a single grade. Your official GPA is the weighted average across all courses. Use the GPA Calculator for that.
